This week we read Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown — many of the Afternoon friends mentioned they have it at home, too, and we loved seeing the busy barn day slowly turn to night by the last page. “What’s that?“ Cleo asked as we got to the end, and we realized it was the silhouette of the scarecrow. Reading the same book throughout the week lets children ask questions and voice noticings as their comprehension and grows with each reading. Here are some photos from our week together!
